Quick and Easy Video For the Web

Mlm Video Blogs – The Basics

Mlm Video blogs are much more efficient for those of you who are more used to dealing with people face to face.  You don’t have to waste any of those in person persuasion skills that you have developed – videos are the easiest things to produce in the world, and now the cheapest.

Video blogs are becoming increasingly popular due to the facility of shooting and production.  This video blog by Al Thompkins  (http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=2&aid=141773) shows how to make short videos using a “Flip” camera, some simple editing software, and your own awesome knowledge that you need to share with the world.

Flip Camera

The Flip camera is a digital video camera with a USB port that literally flips out.  This allows you to plug it directly into your computer without a cable.  It is available inexpensively, at a price point of around $200 as opposed to what you would think a digital video camera costs.  It is available through most major technology outlets both online and off.

Mr. Thompkins runs through the technology and software needed to work with a Macintosh; it is easily adaptable to a PC simply by just changing the software package to something like Podesk which was created to produce video blogs and video podcasts.

Podcasts

A quick word on podcasts now that we have introduced them; you should consider not only having videos on your blog or website, but also broadcasting a short video podcast that you update each week.  You can use this podcast for anything you want, but as with setting up a blog, it is best if it is targeted to the people that you want to attract.  If you are selling gift certificates for spas, for example, you’ll want to do a health and beauty show on your podcast.  For the techniques used in a podcast as opposed to any other video medium, check out this article in MacWorld (http://www.macworld.com/article/49717/2006/03/aprilcreate.html).

Uploading Your Videos

If you aren’t sure how to upload video, get yourself a YouTube account, upload them there, and simply link back to them on your blog or website.  Don’t worry about how you look either – surfers aren’t expecting a full media production.  You should clean yourself up and put on a nice shirt or blouse, but nothing beyond that is required.  Your message is important, and while being attractive helps as with everything in life, the message is what you are trying to “sell” here.

Hopefully we’ve taken all of the mystery – and cost – out of shooting video for the web.   To recap, purchase a “Flip” camera, upload the results to your computer, edit them with a simple editing program, and voila – you are hopefully the next viral internet marketer.  You can also choose to produce a video podcast if you want to take it a step further – this is a valuable commodity to use to attract potential network members to you.
