Multi-level marketing business involves selling products through a (usually vast) network of unsalaried distributors who earn their income through commissions. The more the distributors sell, the more commissions that are earned. Multi-level marketing business should not be confused with pyramid schemes where people are ostensibly paid for recruiting others into the scheme, and not by selling a product.

As anyone can imagine, many people have been recruited into schemes that look like legitimate business, but have nothing to show for it. In order to be sure a Multi-Level Marketing business is a legitimate one, there are several things you should look out for.

A Multi-Level Marketing business with good products

Any company that produces goods hope to penetrate the market by offering products with a Unique Selling Point (USP).  That means that the product has some special characteristics that differentiate it from others in the market. The products offered by the multi-Level Marketing business must at the very least be equal to, or greater than similar products in the market. Is the product being offered by a Multi-Level Marketing business are of poor quality, it is unlikely that the distributors will manage to be successful selling them.

Fair Prices for the products

It is only logical that in a Multi-Level Marketing business, where the company does not really spend so much on advertisement and distribution itself, the prices for the products should only be fair. Furthermore, few people will opt to buy expensive products when they can just walk into the supermarket and buy the products’ equivalent at half the price. Though the company might make so much about the quality of the products, the reality is that sometimes people care only about the results. And if a cheaper products can produce similar results like the one being offered by multi-level Marketing business, customers will vote with their wallets.

Solid support network

A multi level marketing business required that new distributors be adequately trained and mentored if they are to make it in the business. There is a need to hold seminars where upline distributors motivate the relatively new ones and also to inform the audience bout the nature of the products. Most failure cases happen because of lack of adequate support and training from the network members.

Honest and Direct Approaches to Business

Many distributors hope to recruit prospects through lure by crass materialism and untold wealth. They never say that success with Multi-Level Marketing business comes with hard work, perseverance and naked ambition. Also individual distributions should never have to make excuses about the company, which is expected to be above board in everything.

Reasonable inventory requirements

The best Multi-level Marketing Business is one that has unrestrictive entry level requirements, and indeed some have none. Any person willing to enter the multi-level marketing business should be in a position to do so without being asked to fork out some unreasonable sums of money for the opportunity. In any case, neither the multi-level marketing business nor the distributor has anything to lose should a prospect develop cold feet.
