Using Blogs to Build Up Your MLM Reputation
The Web is an extremely powerful tool and can be used to create a large amount of publicity. It can also be an incredible starting point to launch a personal career in network and multi-level marketing. If you go about it the right way, you will be able to establish a strong online presence that will starting turning heads and get you noticed.
Blogs are an excellent way for you to build-up a reputation and promote yourself as an expert in a specific niche or industry on the web as a network marketer or mlm'er. Blogs make for a hot network marketing tool and should be an integral part of your personal online branding strategy. They allow you to create an online persona that will produce the visibility you need to be regarded as an expert in your targeted network marketing niche.
What is a blog?
For those of you who are new to the blogging scene, here’s a quick review of what a blog is. A blog is like basically an online journal that is (or should be) regularly updated with entries in reverse-chronological order that are meant to be read by the general public. Blogs usually reflect the personality of its owner and are focused on specific topics or themes. These topics can be almost anything, from philosophical musings and rants to online money-making strategies.
Blogs and building up a reputation
The most wonderful thing about blogs, when it comes to reputation building, is that it’s relatively easy to convince people that you are an expert on a certain subject. There is no need to for you to prove that you have been an active member in that industry and back it up with professional credentials from some official institution, as is often the case in the real world. Remember that on the internet, you can be whoever you want to be.
But you have to know what you’re talking about. Great content is the key to building a credible online reputation through a blog. There is a reason why the adage “Content is King” has become so popular amongst bloggers. It’s because the quality of a blog’s content has the power to make or break it. Quality content can catapult your blog to new heights in terms of reputation and web traffic. Poor content will quickly lead to your blog’s demise.
Great content must be relevant, engaging, and compelling. In addition, it needs to be consistently great. There are several ways that you can build your reputation through great blog content. You may provide your readers with helpful tutorials on a specific subject matter. You could post the latest and hottest news about that topic. Collecting the most relevant online and offline resources about your subject matter and posting them for your readers will also do wonders for your blog. Some successful bloggers regularly provide their readers with various tools and gadgets that will help them save time or do a job more efficiently.
Ultimately, you want to build a solid presence and reputation online because it makes marketing and promoting your network marketing products easier and more effective. A product recommendation from an expert has a much stronger influence on the consumer than one recommended by a non-expert. Likewise, product advertisements or links posted on an expert’s blog are much more credible and attractive than your everyday banner ad. Think about it, what is more likely to get you to go to that new restaurant down the street; an endorsement by a five-star Michelin Chef or an ad in the local newspaper?
The type of reputation
The type of reputation that you create through your blog must be aligned with the type of network marketing product you want to promote. If you are promoting a no-nonsense type of product that requires accurate and dependable information, as is the case with a financial product, then the type of reputation you need to build is a positive and trustworthy one. On the other hand, if your product is more creative, it might serve you well to develop a slightly notorious and controversial reputation to get potential customers to notice you.
There are many blog owners who have gained attention and a credible reputation by disagreeing with and challenging existing bloggers and providing newer, more creative content. This can play out to be a very effective strategy if the product you’re promoting really is much better than an existing one. However, if your network marketing product is mediocre, then your disagreements and challenges may be mistaken for arrogance.
On a closing note, whatever type of reputation you decide to carve out for yourself, remember that it needs to complement the network marketing product you are promoting. A blog has unlimited potential in creating a strong reputation for your network marketing business online, as long as you use it correctly, appropriately and strategically.
