I have seen a lot of similar questions recently in the various forums I visit, and its a great question! There is so much information out there for a beginner to take in.

The first thing is to get stuck in there, sign up to some newsletters, buy some products, read some free blogs and have a go at setting up your first website or blog. Once you have done that, you can move onto the next step, which is monetizing your website.

Focus is the key and you need to keep focused on one topic or niche if possible. The more attention and focus you can give a topic, the more chance of success you will have. I have made a lot of money by building multiple sites in one specific industry, and then cross promoting the various sites. Niche websites are an excellent way to attract targeted traffic.

Lets do a quick case study on myself as its easier. I am currently working on promoting 1 product/ training system which is The Renegade Network Marketer. I recently made a video about some of my ideas to build up this business, which you can find on my Attraction Marketing blog post.

I know in network marketing, there are lots of different network marketing businesses and companies around who need help with getting leads and signups into their business, so over a period of about 6 months I will create mini networks for all the big network marketing companies.

I will have multiple sites for each one. So, I would have 2-5 blogs for Amway, 2-5 blogs for Kleeneze, 2-5 blogs for Nuskin etc and cross promote each one. I am funneling traffic from each of the feeder sites into my main blogs or sites which will then capture the lead.

If I could give a newbie a bit of advice, it would be - GET INVOLVED WITH VIDEO - anything you learn online, try to convert it to video, put it up on youtube.com or other video sharing sites and use these massive video sites to drive traffic back to your main blog.

You can dominate a niche market by producing videos about the topic. Fairly soon, you will have a huge following of people who watch and listen to your videos. You are then in a great position to recommend products to them! Although Youtube.com is huge, there are still not many bloggers or website owners using video to promote your business.

Here I talk about how I get traffic to my sites and blogs. I try to replicate what I have done in other industries and then use the same techniques which I know will work in my mlm business.

First thing in driving traffic to my mlm blog is by submitting unique content. This is very important if you want to rank in google and gain natural search engine traffic.

I then go to www.socialmarker.com and bookmark my post to about 15 of the social bookmarking sites. This helps me get indexed in Google quicker.

Ask friends to stumble your blog at www.stumbleupon.com - This will help generate more traffic back to your blog.

I also guest blog, which is basically a great way to gain backlinks and other peoples traffic. If you look through other blogs in the mlm or network marketing industry and contact a few of the bloggers to see if they would like to have a guest blogger. You will then be able to write posts on their sites and benefit from their traffic.

Submit articles to various article directories such as ezinearticles.com

I then use videos to drive traffic to my sites. I usually upload my video to TrafficGeyser or TubeMogul (Free Account) which then distributes my video to about 35 different sites.

Here are a few ideas and tips you can follow to use Squidoo Lenses to build your Mlm and Network Marketing business. Keep taking small steps and eventually you will have a whole network of websites, lenses, videos, blogs etc.

If your involved with mlm and network marketing, you are going to need a constant supply of leads to market your business to and the way I do this is by using mlm forums.

If you go to Google and type in mlm forums, or network marketing forums then go to the forums that you find.

What did I do and learn today?

Wasted a little more time watching a Google Adwords video and subscribing for a free report that I am sure I will never read, lol.

I have to stop the impulse time wasting thing that so many people seem to do. It usually goes like this…

1/ Browse the Internet for nothing in particular
2/ Find something that interests you… Ie - How to get more traffic using google adwords.
3/ Visit site, sign up for a free tips newsletter
4/ 2 days later… Open email from adwords guru
5/ Click link in email to a 'Free Video'
6/ Waste 25 minutes watching 'Free Video'
7/ Sign up for 'Free Ebook' that the 'free video' was promoting
8/ Get another email with the 'real product link'
9/ Buy the main product that you know you wont have enough time to read
10/ File the product and say you will 'read it tomorrow'
11/ Never read the product and find it 6 months later.
12/ Repeat this cycle of wasting your time and money for months to come, until you finally see the light!

Anyway, getting back to what I did today…

I set up a Blip.tv account and integrated it with twitter, myspace, itunes, delicious, flickr, facebook and a few other places.

The reason I wanted to integrate it with all the other accounts is so that everytime I post a new video to blip.tv, it syndicates and posts my video to all the integrated sites.

I know this sounds very complicated, but honestly it's not. If you need any help setting up your accounts please let me know and I will record you a video showing you how to do it.

I then posted this video http://gavinmountford.blip.tv/#873448 to blip.tv which gets automatically posted to all the other services.

I did some work on my other sites, and customized this blog a little more by adding a feedburner widget, mybloglog and a few other tools.

I also looked at using www.seesmic.com which is a video comments plugin for wordpress. I opened a free account but haven't yet worked out what to do with the plugin. I will take a look again in the next few days and hopefully implement it into my blog.

Record a video
Change myspace account and blip.tv to work with my main account
Write a blog post on http://ryanshamus.com
Upload a couple of video blog comments on youtube.com
Do a little work on my other websites
Outsource the design of my header image for this blog
